Classics Spin

I saw the Classics Club was doing another Classics Spin, and while I’m technically too late, I haven’t seen what number they drew. The idea is to make a list of 20 of the books left on my Classics Club list (cough allofthem cough) and then a random number will be chosen and I’ll have to read that book by July 1st. This seems like a good kick in the pants, so here’s my list:

  1. Ariel by Sylvia Plath
  2. The Monk by Matthew Lewis
  3. The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
  4. The Lost World by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
  5. Gigi by Collette
  6. A Room of One’s Own by Virginia Woolf
  7. Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier
  8. East of Eden by John Steinbeck
  9. Respiración artificial by Ricardo Piglia
  10. The Complete Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
  11. Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne
  12. North & South by Elizabeth Gaskell
  13. H.D.: Collected Poems by H.D.
  14. The Razor’s Edge by W. Somorset Maugham
  15. The Old Man & The Sea by Earnest Hemingway
  16. Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton
  17. My Ántonia by Willa Cather
  18. Los pazos de Ulloa by Emilia Pardo Bazán
  19. Walden by Henry David Thoreau
  20. Emma by Jane Austen

Okay, now that I’ve made my list, which book will it be?

A Room of One’s Own by Virginia Woolf

Oh, good choice Calssics Spin! I have a notebook with the cover of A Room of One’s Own on it that I’ve been toting around and using as a journal. I’ve been dreading the idea that someone ask me about my opinions on A Room of One’s Own, since I’ve never read it. Off to the library!
